Our laboratory work deals with two main topics: development of preclinical models for the study of diet-induced metabolic derangements, and the development of murine models of pulmonary fibrosis.
Specifically, diet-induced metabolic derangements are studied in the main tissues associated with metabolism, such as liver, skeletal muscle and adipose tissue, by the chronic supply of hypercaloric diets (high in lipid and/or carbohydrate content) to rodents in order to identify new pharmacological targets.
With regard to pulmonary fibrosis, the focus of the group is on the development of interstitial diseases in murine models (through subcutaneous administration of Bleomycin) and their monitoring through imaging technologies (micro-CT).
