Attività di ricerca

Prof. Laura Moro leads the Cellular and Applied Biology group in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, focusing on tumor cell biology. Her team has developed extensive expertise in various methodologies related to receptor-mediated signal transduction pathways, gene and protein expression, post-translational protein modifications, and cellular metabolism. Collaborating with numerous Italian and international research laboratories, clinicians, and pharmaceutical companies, the group has made significant strides in the field. Since 2008, Prof. Moro has primarily focused on translational research in pleural mesothelioma, currently overseeing projects aimed at identifying new therapeutic targets and evaluating the efficacy of drugs in both in vitro and in vivo models to advance personalized therapies. Notably, she has led initiatives investigating selective estrogen receptor beta agonists, exploring the specific roles of AKT isoforms, TG2, ALDH1A3, and analyzing responses to EZH2 and KDM6B inhibitors.
