The research activities involve the formulation of micro and nanoparticulate systems for the delivery of active ingredients of natural, synthetic, and biotechnological origins, as well as cells, developing Medicinal Products for Advanced Therapies and Tissue Engineering. These products, including those based on mesenchymal stem cells, are aimed at regenerative medicine and applications in human therapy, veterinary medicine, and zootechnics. Recently, scientific work has explored the development of extracellular vesicles and secretome derived from stem cells, offering new therapeutic opportunities also as next-generation drug delivery systems. Collaborations initiated since the 1990s with various research groups have allowed the application of technological-pharmaceutical expertise in veterinary and biomedical fields. Multidisciplinary partnerships have facilitated the development of new skills, such as the manipulation of cells in sterile environments and the development of assays to evaluate the efficacy of pharmaceutical products.
